What's the best place to buy a 18k gold necklace?

My wife wants a 18k gold chain necklace for her cross to hang from. What's a good place locally to shop for this? She mentioned Macy's but I presume that's about the highest priced alternative? Anyone have any ideas?

18 ct vs 14 ct is an excellent choice. In addition to Jewelers Bench, Jared's and Dixon Jewelers in Humble. FYI gold is pretty expensive these days.

Just a suggestion, 18k is not as strong, you are much better off with 14k for durability and it's cheaper. I purchased a 14k ladies 18" gold necklace at Christmas from JB for $1000. It was about quality and I don't feel good buying jewelry on line.
