A lineman told my husband it could be another 7 days before we get power. 😨

Oh, damn, girl. I'm so sorry to hear that. Someone posted about talking to a lineman yesterday who said there were places that were probably a week out from getting power back. Let me know if you need anything.

JFC, why is city services not keeping trees trimmed near power lines?? I thought that's what our expensive AF property taxes went towards 😱😭

"Trailwood Village Community Association (TVCA), a non-profit Texas corporation. Trailwood Village was founded in 1971 and was the 1st village in Kingwood. The TVCA provides services to residents of the Trailwood subdivision in Kingwood, Texas that are not otherwise provided by any Federal, State, County, or City governmental organizations."

I think I just answered my own question. Trailwood thinks it's too good for outside services 🤣

nouser : No that's means the HOA is responsible for services rendered. Greenbelts, pools, streets, etc.

nouser : Trimmed trees would not have helped - whole 80-90 foot pine trees fell on the lines and smashed them down like a hot knife through butter.

This storm damage is not because of a lack of maintenance; it's because of the design of hiding power transmission lines in the greenbelts for aesthetics.

StormChaser : Just call a redneck meth addicted "plumber" from New Caney. They'll know a guy with some suspicious copper wiring and have that pole duct taped up, re-wired and working in two hours. It'll just $200 and a 12 pack of Bud 🍻

buffaloglenn :
I have 5 mature pine trees in my backyard and not a one fell over. Just a couple broken branches from one. In fact, a whole canopy oak toppled over onto my neighbor's roof - the roots were shallow.

Still trimming would at least help some. Less wind resistance?

nouser : Frustration totally understood. They should have buried all those lines, but alas, we can't go back. We would all like to get a few whacks at those original designers. Emoticon
