Shouldn't murder be a life sentence? He is also getting almost a year of credit for time served! He'll be out on parole before he dies.
Carol's Sons Hearing
Just wanted to let y'all know he was convicted and sentenced on March 21st. Wish I had looked sooner so I could be there. 40 years.

So glad he was convicted. I would hope that she has other family members who can appear Each time he is go before the parole board, and talk them Out of EVER setting him free. Why do I feel like Karma will find him in prison....?
He'll be eligible for parole in 10 years (if he keeps his nose clean and doesn't get "offed" by another inmate) and could realistically gain release after 15 - at the earliest. However, based upon his age, the crime itself, and his criminal history, his odds of surviving long enough parole aren't particularly good.
Hope his sister can move on and the grands can get over this tragedy.
Am I correct in remembering he had some mental issues?
Thank you for letting us know. I often think of Carol although I didn't know her IRL. A mother's love is stronger than we sometimes understand. Prayers for her family.
Fiddledede : He deliberately and violently killed his own mother. Is there any question of that?
