Some urgent news. Vandalism has created a widespread telecom outage affecting primarily Comcast customers in Atascocita, Humble, Kingwood and Porter. Here's how to track the status of repairs.

Sure it's not just the Comcast vendor digging up more critical infrastructure?

Jayson : It will be alright maybe they will get it all patched up, Actually Kingwood utility infrastructure is mostly patch work, at this point. Gas lines , Water lines, Internet, sub standard 3rd world electric service. Probably be just okay or good enough. I'm obviously being a smart mouth as usual.

Texasdad : And you do it so well lmao! 🤣

How would vandals cut underground (or even above-ground) lines, particularly without being noticed? I'd imagine it would take more than just a pocket knife or a pair of wire snips -- unless you're MacGyver?

Ruger5 : It's like some are agents of chaos just for the sake of chaos, not unlike the fictional Joker from Batman lore.

Thanks for keeping us informed on things that most of us would be unaware of in our area.

I've heard, but haven't been able to confirm, that service to some cell towers was cut. The cables are still important to business customers. I've also heard from some customers who say that telecommunications in their entire office buildings were knocked out. That could put a serious dent in productivity, deadlines, etc. And then there are people who have emergencies. Imagine having a heart attack and not being able to call 911.

That looks like something one of their contractors would do.

I'm surprised cable companies are still in business. I haven't watched cable since 2012 & surprised they're still around. Every channel either has an app or streaming service now.

kyleven : This is not just cable. This includes internet service. Without internet service having an app or streaming service you're dead in the water.
