Another wreck 494 & Hamblen

Too many bad drivers around.

That T intersection is a confusing mess for any newby !

3xCharmed : Yikes! Ended up in the woods by the power pole.

ForestFinds : They may have been trying to find their way to the new Forest Cove RV Park and ATV Playground.

3xCharmed : I wonder how long it will take for them to put a light there.

TEXASGIRLMAMMA : It really needs one.

3xCharmed : People driving on the 59 feeder in that area drive like they are on the GP 500. Visibility is ok for cars trying to turn onto Hamlin if the oncoming traffic is not driving like a bat out of heck. Add the cars trying to turn left onto the feeder that goes under the bridge and you have the makings of a serious accident.I won't go that way during rush hour. Scary.

CaffeineFree : On top of that you have the drivers coming down from like Lowes and they think they are entitled and don't have to stop at the stop sign. I've seen many run that sign.

3xCharmed : I am late to the thread. Was this today? There was another horrible wreck there yesterday on Monday!

Happyface : I think it was today. I have to wonder how many accidents have to happen there for them to put up lights.

TEXASGIRLMAMMA : TEXASGIRLMAMMA : Not really sure but I do think that the main problem is the crossover with stop sign while traveling south on 494 to get to Hamblen. Maybe block that off and make it to where people have to go up and over 59 @ Sorters and then under the bridge to come on to Hamblen from the south. Leave the right turn lane going from Hamblen onto 494 going north and the right turn from 494 north onto Hamblen as is or improved. Really wouldn't need a light but there needs to better signage and lane markers. Also the people that are travelling north on 494 need to slow the hell down! There is a light at Sorters, people are leaving 494 turning onto Hamblen and there are people entering 494 from Hamblen! It is not a race, people!

This is getting ridiculous and needs immediate attention! You have people heading north on the feeder and turning right (not a real problem, however, got to watch those coming down 494 at the stop sign sometimes daring themselves to cross without stopping and there you have the accidents). Also, heading north on 494 many motorists go way over the speed limit and even if they do not have to stop, it sometimes does not give those coming south on 494 at the stop sign enough time to really scoot across even after they stop at the sign. Poor judgment of drivers in many cases.
