Vultures along the ditch between Trailwood Village and Forest Cove. There is what appears to be a dead deer in the ditch and more than 10 huge vultures were everywhere last evening. They are in trees along the ditch this morning. So creepy.

buffaloglenn : Yes but they are gross. Can I give them your address? Lol
I love vultures. Especially the black ones. If you go to Sam Houston wilderness park at dusk they roost by the general store and the lake. It's a beautiful sight. I'm not sure if the female chooses a branch or the male, but they pick a branch in all these trees and then another joins them. Two to a branch as mates. They first swoon in on the tables and railings waiting for the mate to get their branch.
I was blessed by a huge red headed one when we lived in our apartment. My dh had just gotten home, something happened and when the news article came on we headed for the front room. All of a sudden there was a massive shade thrown on us like a dinosaur flew by. Enough to distract us and look. I headed out the patio and just 16 feet from me was this huge red headed vulture. I slowly stepped closer as he watched me. He let me get within 6 feet and flew off. He landed in the grass and I wanted his pic. The old bitty with her yapping poodles scared him. My dh could not believe I found his sitting spot. He told me I was nuts to think I could. I bent down, picked up a down feather and smelled it. I said smell, that's a vulture. He just looked at me and asked how the hell? I used to hunt. To hunt you track, spot, and know before you build a tree stand. You know.

I wonder if she looks out her door before opening it? There could be a copperhead or an alligator out there depending where she lived. Lol
I have a pass through in our yard for a whole slew of wildlife here in Conroe.
The jungle next door is where they eat. The people bought it two years ago and haven't stepped out there since. The rats pass by too. So much so, I can't have a grill outside.
