Dirty silverware

We went out to eat today at Carrabba's in Kingwood and they just could not seem to give me any clean silverware. The 3rd set was finally clean. It had mega water spots so, I wiped it down with a disinfecting wipe. I expect my silverware to be clean. Is that asking too much? I'm going to start taking my own silverware with me. Even plasticware would be better than dirty silverware.

So, beware! Check your silverware when you go to Carrabba's. Their dishwasher must not be working properly! 4951

Reivax : It certainly does! You would think with the lack of business right now they could at least wash the dishes and silverware properly. I think they are all slacking. They should be putting out their very best to get the customers. 4951

TEXASGIRLMAMMA : That's why you always ask for an extra glass of water with no ice and a squirt of dawn. Who cares if the waiter looks at you funny!

Jonn : That is a great idea! Also, even when my silverware is clean looking I rub a slice of lemon on it to help disinfect it. I just hate to have dirty silverware! 4951

808 : I do understand why! We went out today for my Auntie's Bday. I would have been happier eating at home. We have discovered we are really good cooks and we like our food! 4951

TEXASGIRLMAMMA : Remember, if it's real silver you are OK. Silver kills most bacteria's.

Jonn : Too bad, It for sure is not real silver. 4951

TEXASGIRLMAMMA : Yuck! Dirty restaurant silverware is gross! And I think the glasses can be too. I always ask for a straw cause I don't want to put my mouth where someone else did, especially if they don't properly wash the glasses. (In bars, sometimes if they're busy or running out of glasses, they just dunk them in water and fill them again.

SandyKnee : Yeah, I always take my own water in my big Artic mug because of that. All this makes me want to never eat out again! I have to wonder if the food on the plate is covering the gunk that got left behind. 4951

TEXASGIRLMAMMA : I think a lot of places are slacking and using the whole covid thing as a lousy excuse. You are right when you say they should be giving or at least striving to show their best.
Restaurants have no excuse not to be clean. They practically gutted everything from the tables, menus, and only seat half the people.
I watched a manager wipe off everything including the bench seats before sitting another guest. Yet I've seen the cursory wipe off that made me want to jump up and say moved, I do a better job at home. 4951

TEXASGIRLMAMMA : I have decided that curbside to go is a good way to avoid dirty dishes. The hot cooked food goes straight into the to-go container. We eat it at home. We save money on drinks and don't have to worry about their glassware or who touched the ice or lemons. 4951

Not to mention they have raised their prices quite a bit but they can not have clean silverware. Yuck! 4951
