So most of the new HEB shopping center is open. I was wondering what everyone's opinion is of the restaurant in there. I haven't been to most of them yet. My husband just can't make it passed Canes. Lol, he actually made me stand in line to be one of the first 100. 4951

I like all the new restaurants, but Torchys is my favorite. My dd didn't like the ice cream place too much so I doubt we will be frequent visitors there. 4951
With the exception of Whataburger, I'm pleased that most restaurants are unique to the area, even though most are chains. They appear to have maintained the quota for requiring at least 1 nail salon, a hair place, and a chicken eatery, but they really fell short on a mattress store. Fortunately, there's still time. I'd love to see a place like Amadeo's relocate to that rooftop location at the corner of Kingwood Dr and WLH Pkwy. I'm sure it has the highest lease costs of any other location there, so an established customer base is probably needed for a business considering making that kind of commitment. 4951
Canes to me is a waist of space. Chicken is stringy and terrible. Sorry, you asked. Ill be positive - their sauce is very good. Torchy's is good, like their tacos. Haven't tried Pottbelly yet, need to get over there. 4951

I personally don't like Canes. The chicken seems dry to me. I will choose Chick-Fil-a over it any day. I love Potbellies and the one there is just as good as the other locations I have been to. We tried Torchy's last week and were not impressed. The food was fine, but not anything spectacular and the wait wasn't worth it. There was nobody in line when we got there and it still took 45 min to get 4 tacos. Haven't tried the Asian place, ice cream place, or Salata yet. Not sure if Salata is even open. 4951

Mama **'s is good - similar to Pei Wei. I think Salatas opens next Thursday.

I think Salata opens next week. We don't go out often so we haven't tried any of them yet.

Also, don't expect to see the fireworks there either.  I would join the CC so you can eat better and see fireworks.  4951
Forgot about Mama **'s, may be my favorite out of the new places. Even though when they get busy, I think they turn off their phone and online ordering. Had to go to Hunan's the other day for carryout, because they would not answer the phone at Mama **'s. 4951
@ Elite:My wife went there and bought a huge thing a chicken strips for a gathering we were having. UUUGGG. It was like 60 pieces or something. She asked what large sides they have and they said all they had was individual servings. So she would have to buy like twenty individual servings?????? She went to HEB for the side. How do you sell big pans of chicken strips, but not large sides??? 4951
