Teen Hit On Bicycle

At around 9:30AM, an SUV struck a teenage girl on a bicycle. It occurred at Kingwood Dr. & Village Estates Dr. (near Woodland Hills Dr.). Her condition is unknown at this time. Will update if anything changes.https://www.kingwood.com/news/map_houston_incidents.php?area=nehouston&fb=1 4951

UPDATE:Â The only additional information at this time is that the little girl is ok...Her injuries were minimal.Â Emoticon

I passed by the scene on my way down Kingwood Dr - I saw the bike in the trunk of the police car. Â Â It's late arrival at middle school today so she was probably on her way to KMS; I was driving my son to Creekwood. Â That's the scariest thing - I remember the girl from Rice on her bike downtown with headphones on and didn't hear the train coming until it was too late....used to bike ride a lot and put a bike radio on for safety.Â 4951

Praise God, I am glad to hear she is okay. I know that can be a parents nightmare to get a call that their child was involved in an accident. 4951

or anyone not following traffic rules.Sometimes bikes forget they need to follow them too.

You're correct. Bicycles and motorcycles are both dangerous and I know from experience that the consequences of misjudgment on either are dramatic for the driver, not the auto .
