I got my bill in the mail for my Association dues, which is no big deal,  except that the houses on my street look like crap! We got two trailers in driveways, weeds galore, ugly plastic patio furniture and homes in disrepair. If I wanted to live in the ghetto, I would!  I don't feel like I should pay for someone to enforce deed restrictions when it's obvious no one is doing it!  I am going to talk to my HOA, but was just wondering if anyone else has this same complaint, or if it's just my street in ST. 4951

Yep, same here sister, my neighbor had a toilet at the end of his driveway one day when I came home from work. I could have died right on the spot, I think it sat there for a week or so..... I was furious..... but nothing was done.... 4951

Same here too. The ones that manage Elm Grove suck. They have selective enforcement. There are people parking trailers all the time in driveways and streets for days and weeks on end and they never do anything about it. There are houses that look abandoned and you would think they'd get on the mortgage companies to clean them up. 4951

But one thing for sure there is no way I would move into an area where there is no HOA! I refuse to be living next door to someone with a pink Pepto Bismal house paint job with a cow in the front yard and chickens running around everywhere..... Also, I hate when folks use the streets as their driveways!!!!! If it can't fit in the garage at least park in your own driveway!!!! 4951

How can they fit the car in the driveway next to the trailer, card table and dog crate? Come on, bubbleyes! Sheesh! I suppose you are right. It could be worse... 4951

How come builders don't give as much land as they did in Forest Cove, I love the yard sizes of those homes by Walnlut Grove and surrounding that area, I live in Trailwood Village and none of the yards are that size. I just love all the space and green yard you can have!!! I am looking and waiting for a home to come up so I can try and snatch it.... the only thing most of those folks have been there for ever and they don't believe in remodeling...... 4951

@bubbleyes72 A lot of FC floods, too. I lived there til this past June, but in the newer part in front called Lakewood Cove. It was nice but too far away from school for how much we run back and forth. Pros and cons of everywhere I guess. 4951

@Burnsway That's how they were in Lakewood Cove. They sent me letters all the time that I needed to edge. I already edged!!!! I got mad at that, but I miss it now. Go figure. 4951

It seems to me the serial violators who seem to have the ***-ugly stuff all over or only mow 3X the entire summer, are the ones that never take care of their issues.. The HOA sends out a letter, either people comply or they don't. But it makes sense, the ones who care, comply. The ones who don't care, don't ever fix their issues. I'm sure the HOA keeps harassing them but they just ignore. What is the HOA going to do?? They have the power to evict you from your home if you don't pay your dues tho. Emoticon If you leave your house a total pitt, no problem! 4951

@ruk72: See, that's the problem. You care so you tend to the issue. The people with Mother Nature's barf in their front yard, care not a bit...and they'll send them a letter but can't force them to comply. So, the losers keep on keepin' on and the responsible people keep up their yard.Way of the world. The DO's and the DO NOTHINGS.
