Just wanted to offer my support for your pup and just ignore the posters who forget the lesson we were taught by Thumper as kids.

A long time ago I saved an emaciated, HW+ GSD from a shelter in Galveston all on my own because the rescue I was with at the time refused to let me foster for them in my townhouse. I didn't want to see him die so I just rescued him independently. the medical bills quickly piled up and I reached out for help. His HW treatment was paid in full thanks to the kind and generous people from this forum and no one gave me grief. A life was saved and now that dog is helping to change others lives.

I hope you get the help you need. We all fall on hard times. 4951

Thank you Jamie. It was certainly hard for me to post asking for help. I guess I jumped to assumptions when I posted on Kingwood.com. There's just so many dog lovers on this forum that I thought it would be the best place to put my post. I never imagined that there were people on the form that would jump in just to criticize or make sarcastic remarks about such a serious problem with my dog. I guess because I would never do something like to that someone in need I just assumed others wouldn't either. My bad. Thank you for your kind words Jamie. I have e-mailed kingwood.com and request that they remove my post in my account. Hopefully they will get right on that. Kudos to you and to those others on this form that actually have a heart and reach out to those four-legged kids in need. It's people like you that restore faith in the human race. 4951

When a person takes on the responsibilities of a dog, you also take on the financial part as well.  If I buy a vehicle, and the transmission goes out, I'm not going to ask people for money to fix it.  When my wife and I had our son, and he had some health issues, we didn't go online to ask people for money for hospital bills. 4951

@petstylist: just because i think it's inappropriate that you came on here asking people for money...does not make me heartless. every animal i've owned has been a rescue. and i didn't take any of them in before knowing my financial limits. things happen, i get it. but asking people for money...then telling someone else in need that you're going to give them money...i don't get it. 4951

I think it is mostly the fact that the board was inundated with requests lately. I don't believe for a minute that no one cares about the dog, but there are other ways to get money as well as just asking for someone to give it to you. 4951

No problem! I had already spent 500 of my own money on that dog and just needed help with the 200 for his HW treatment. It wasn't a problem.

I believe in Karma, paying it forward, and what goes around comes around. Yeah I get annoyed sometimes when people ask for money for different things but I just ignore it because i have to understand that just because I might not care about the specific cause they are needing help with, there are others who do care and who am I to tell someone what to do with their own money? You never know who you will make an impression on. You might get someone wanting to donate to help your dog because they had a dog that needed the same surgery and understand how grateful you would be for the help.

It's hard to stay positive sometimes. 4951

@taramay
couldn't agree more!
and, as i mentioned in an earlier post...i was also turned off at the fact that you didn't want to listen to advice that may be less expensive.

I didn't mean people were heartless because they don't help my Dog. I was referring to people that were heartless enough to go out of their way to use sarcasm or make rude comments when they could have just ignored the post. Not donating and giving well wishes would have been more than enough for me. 4951

I have been in business for 3 years and personally paid for many rescue pups and their shots, spay neuter, with the help of rescue groups at a discount rate, Not my own personal pups but those that come to me as rescue, its a price but well worth working harder for and paying the price.  I hope you accomplish the needs you have for your rescue.  Its not always easy but more times just rewarding!  Good Luck! 4951

Have you considered a payday loan?  Yes it's less than ideal as the interest rates are rather high.  Just the same as  you mentioned you have less than ideal credit this may be one of few options left.  As you noted you are employed typically a job history is all it takes to take out a sum--up to 2000. depending on your monthly income.   There are also title loan places if you own a vehicle outright and you can borrow against it's worth. I was against the donation post for (2) reasons.  One--it seemed that you were unwilling to consider outside options other than just flat out relying on others.  Two--your simultaneous posting of being annoyed by fireworks and also calling your neighbors' names such as "crackheads" as these same neighbors' may be the ones actually reading your listing and deciding if your request appeals to their good nature.   I read quite a bit of judgement and less than optimal accountability. Either way I hope that you find a good solution for your pet; but from someone who also has experience on the financial ropes sometimes you just have to pull up the straps and make it work on your own--however you can.  4951
