I picked her up off the street, saw her through parvo and was hoping to foster her a short time so she can feel human love and adjust. A teenager was feeding her (the rest of the litter died) and she was smart and kind enough to contact rescue people. It was raining homeless moms and their puppies that day so no one could get her so I picked her up. I usually only foster Huskies and dogs over 2 years of age. We kept her separated from our two but today I let her in with mine. Hailey got jealous, bit her and the baby is having surgery tonight to remove her little eye. I am heartbroken. I have no experience with puppies and I didn't think mine would hurt her for the few minutes they were together. She is coming home tomorrow and I need a safe place for her to recover. My husband is leaving for Dubaii in a week and I travel with my job...I want her to be able to be safe and feel love while she recovers...and of course I will find a rescue to sponsor her if someone can foster but can't adopt. Please share and network. She has had a horrible life but she still is full of love. She deserves a great, loving home. Thanks. 4951

I could give her a safe home to recover in if you'd like. I'd be willing to foster her temporarily until a rescue group can take her in.
Just let me know if I can helpEmoticon 4951

Golden Beginnings called and generously offered to put her in their program. She will be up for adoption through them. I am so relieved...they know what they are doing and will find her a great home. I don't know anythings about Goldens except they seem so easygoing, sweet and family oriented. Lilly has her huge appetite back and is playing like nothing happened. She's annoyed at her cone...but other than that she is back to her happy, sweet self. My husband has her at our rental and she keeps getting in his lap giving kisses. All this trauma and she still loves us and is happy. Dogs are so amazing. If I knew how to post a picture I would. Thanks to Maria for her help and Njjk for offering to foster for a little while. 4951

@Pumpkins MomI am so relieved to hear that you found a rescue for Lilly-it is unfortunate that she had the accident, however, you have saved her life by taking her in!  She would have succombed to parvo had you not rescued her!  4951

Golden girl....I was hoping you would read this and I could guilt you into taking her, lol. You would make the most wonderful home for her! But I know...timing is everything.

Long stocking...I have 2 adopted dogs and I foster for Husky Haven. I bring dogs in that are 2 and older so they are the same size. In the beginning there are always jealousy issues. I never bought a puppy in and had no experience with puppies, but she lived on the streets and the rest of the dumped litter had already died..I couldn't let her die. That week in rescue there were many posts about around 10 moms and their puppies who had been dumped and rescuer's were frantically trying to find foster homes for them...we can't pick them up and save them without having placement ready. No one could get this one so I did. I kept her separated most of the time but i couldn't all the time. She jumped on my older female and annoyed her so she bit her. This is my fault...I should have been more careful and not let her around my jealous female...I didn't think she would bite a puppy, but I had no experience. I feel horrible, but as the vet (and Val : ) said...I saved her life..so I'm trying not to hate myself too much over it. 4951

Okay we need a foster and then an all breed rescue?  Wow-good thing Husky Haven doesn't only accept Huskies, think of where poor Fiona and the dozens of partial breeds we have saved would be. 4951

Well I was looking for an update and maybe a picture of little Lilly and saw this...bummerEmoticon. I'm still wililng to help so dont feel too discouraged. If she comes to stay at my house for a bit, she will have plenty of attention from my kiddos and "dog friendly" dogsEmoticon. Wish I could be more help with finding a rescue group but I dont have much personal experience with any. 4951
