Possible homicide 3700 Kingwood Dr apt 2705

Not sure exactly what happened but HPD detectives were at our door this morning said a 911 call was placed around 9am this morning about a man living in the apartment next to us at 2705 (building 27) received blunt force trauma to the head and is "brain dead"/unresponsive.

There was a lot of arguing and fighting going on all night last night.

Can't tell you how many times the police are called to this complex. Just a few months ago there was a police standoff just a few doors down from us (same building!)

I believe I would be very worried at my age now to live in an apartment. Iived in sring Branch for almost 25 years in an apartment and mostly had great neighbors. Purchased my home after that up here. Still great neighbors. Thank you Jesus. Prayers for your safety

Bmdawson : You might want to ask out of your lease with no charge due the BS happening there.

I have always heard that those apartments are on the sketchy side. I knew someone that had to live there while getting home was being repaired and she said she often heard domestic type of fighting.
This latest news has to be unsettling for all of the responsible and law abiding residents that live there. It is hard to find affordable and safe housing in these economic times.

Yeah, those are some of the worst apartments in KW, right behind Woodland Hills, Trailwood and Elm Grove. Harvey claimed them and they should have been razed and made a park at the time.

Ronstang : I thought they did a pretty good job rebuilding them after Harvey, but I kind of agree. A park would have been a much nicer addition to the area.

Probably someone known to the victim, but that does not make the area any safer, for you. I would move ASAP if you're looking for a good apartment and the Kingwood area the Marquis is within the neighborhood, and a good location easy to get to 59 N, but not on the feeder itself, which is preferable when choosing Apartments. I can understand your concern and help you all will be able to move, soon.
