-Yep, mine is 6' 1" and towers over me. His 18 month old son looks just like him.
Isn't that amazing..when your child is holding Their child, and it brings your heart back! Number 3 here, too; I am so glad there is texting, as I can send a quick message, and they answer when they can.

I do not miss having her home. But I do like living close to her. I think space is the ultimate luxury. I think I have a great relationship which I am very grateful for.
Yes, I want them to have their life, too. You raise them to leave you, but are So glad when you get to visit.

I want them to have their life and their laundry too 😂😂😂
I taught mine to do their own laundry when they were 12. I would surprise them and do their basket, when they had done all of their chores, or just because they did something nice for someone else. I do Not miss all of those Many pairs of dirty socks, I hear you!
So true.

I always did everyone's laundry. Even when she went to college I did her laundry when she came home. But I tell you what goes around come around. I don't regret a thing.

My son is slow about answering texts when he's offshore, but he does call me when he needs my opinion on something.
When he's home, his phone must be set on auto dial - Call Mom - every time he gets in the truck. I hear from him several times a day. He started doing his own laundry at an early age, about 10, because he was Mr. GQ. His hair had to be a certain way, his clothes had to be pressed a certain way. He's a handsome man. Now that he's older, he doesn't care as much, but he's just as attractive. #6 is spot on. When he and his wife and the baby come down from College Station, or I go up there for the day, I have the most wonderful time with all of them. I'd rather have those days than win any lottery (I think?) lol
These were three years ago at his wedding. He looks better when he smiles.

It was harder for me before I retired recently, but we would just do a 'few days after' celebration, maybe having Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato and Leftover Turkey sandwiches and potato salad, instead of the big Thanksgiving dinner, and it was fun, too. With 5 careers to navigate, it was trying ,to figure out the why/when. My dil's parents live near Dallas, and do not get to see them nearly as often as I do, so I let them have 'first dibs' on which holiday is at their home, and let them know they are always welcome to come to our celebration for the other holiday, too. The adjustment does get easier, as time goes on, so take heart.
