They should not be on the road with cars. Someone isn't using their noggin.
Let's just start here: golf carts are not allowed on streets or roads with a speed limit above 35 mph. To travel on those roads, they must display a golf cart license plate that is issued by the Harris Co Tax Assessor-Collector.

Kingwood is a master planned community where golf courses were part of the development. Golf carts are allowed on the road way. I think the only restriction they must have lights and blinkers .

There are street legal golf carts, do not remember all the requirements, but do remember they have to be able to go 25 mph. LSV is what I think they are called.
still gotta have that license plate... maybe it's on the front, but...
When is the last time you seen a cop doing his job in kingwood? It is rare I ever see them so that kinda makes me want to do 80 down kw drive. 😂
workman100, StormChaser and Donnawisdom + 4 more reacted They may be legal, but not for long. They're all going to get killed out on major roads like that. I live a block off Kingwood Drive, and people are frequently going WAAAAY above the speed limit there.
Any motorized vehicle requires a license plate to be street legal.
What about these motored bicycles that I see kids riding them not just adults and they are on the roads within the community areas as well as on main roads. I feel they should be licensed also and they shouldn't be no older than 16 years of age with a permit to be able to even drive them out in a street. But that's my thoughts. What are yours?

Agreed! We discuss this here, often. The kids are, of course, immature, untrained, and NO match for a multi-ton vehicle on the roads, and they do not need, nor are they legal to 'drive' on many streets, in congested parking lots, etc,as such. We have already seen the sad and sometims tragic outcome of this practice.
Legal or not, they are dangerous on roads and Not being used for golf. There are golf carts zipping all through town-- many driven by kids. The other day there were two driven by kids, full of kids, zipping up and down the streets and of course no seat belts. That can't be legal, but sure is dangerous!!!
Donnawisdom and Unknown reacted I know for sure I wouldn't want to drive a golfcart on the street. It's asking for really unpleasant trouble. Ask the folks in Galveston.

Every 13 minutes a car crash takes a life, every minute 5 people are injured in a car crash in the USA. Driving is dangerous.
