11 SIGNS YOU'VE GOTTEN VERY USED TO LIVING WITHOUT A MAN. ONE OF THEM IS HILARIOUSLY SPECIFIC.

1. You stopped saving the "man jobs."
If it needs assembling, moving, resetting, opening, or figuring out, you've probably already Googled it.

2. You have an entire system for bringing in groceries in one trip.
Circulation in your fingers is apparently optional.

3. You don't automatically think "I need a man" when something breaks.
You think, "How much is THIS about to cost me?"

4. Sleeping diagonally no longer feels selfish.
That is simply where your legs live now.

5. You've developed suspiciously good jar-opening techniques.
Hot water. Rubber glove. Counter tap. You have options.

6. A strange noise at night has a whole procedure.
Freeze. Listen. Check the camera. Turn on lights. Consider calling somebody. Absolutely do not investigate like the woman in a horror movie.

7. You've carried something into the house that should have required two adults.
You almost lost a toenail, but asking for help felt less convenient.

8. You forget other adults expect to discuss household decisions.
New couch? Bought. Thermostat? Set. Dinner? Whatever you want. Nobody called a meeting.

9. Having someone in your house for too long starts feeling like hosting.
Even when you like them.

10. You have at least one household problem being held together by a solution only you understand.
Do not touch that switch. Do not move that chair. And yes, the door has to be lifted slightly before it closes.

11. You can hear when somebody has changed something in your house.
A cabinet closed differently. A fan left on. Something moved three inches. You walk into the room like, "Who touched my stuff?"

@GreentreeMom :
Emoticon This list! I learned to fix a lot of things, myself! I Did/Do a lot of the 'man' things, since my kids left for college.,even when a 'man' was a part of a relationship. It does not bother me not to have a romantic relationship; better to be Alone, than to waste time with the wrong person. Alone does Not always mean lonely. I would be glad to Share my life, with someone that can treat me with respect, friendship and regard; all of those things are the Basics of "Love". I'm good. Emoticon

This whole list is good. I mastered #2/groceries a long time ago…. And was told by my then husband "the laziest man in the world killed himself working too hard" 🤔 😂

@GreentreeMom : Love this! Sometimes some of them also apply to some that are married.
@TexasButterfly : That is awesome! I am sending that to my sister.

Anything happens to my hubby and if my brother is still alive I'm moving in with him in PA and enjoy all the deer in his back yard.

@GreentreeMom : Not what I wanted but it's getting more likely daily. Sometimes I envy y'all that married and reproduced... I think I could've been good at it.

But, probably better this way. I haven't given up hope for that special relationship, with or without involving church or state but...

The clock is ticking,,🕰️

It's a beautiful song in case you're not familiar but the poetry/lyrics are damn close to what I was trying to say...

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an off-hand way
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way
Tired of lying in the sunshine, staying home to watch the rain
And you are young and life is long, and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
And you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
Sun is the same, in a relative way, but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death
Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to naught, or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time is gone, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say

Faster to read it than listen. Especially if you're not a fan

@GreentreeMom :
Omg that's me. Only i fix it right.
Especially the moving stuff. For years my dh would crack the door and peek in. Just to see if the path was clean. Lol he's come home more than a few times and couldn't get in because the couch was push as I was rearranging my house.
About two years ago he came home and I asked him to bring in a box. I told him Amazon dropped in in front of the garage and it was gonna rain. I hauled it and nearly got killed. When he opened the front door it was right there. He tried to pull it in and couldn't. He got it in and as he leaned it against the wall, I saw the warning. Use two people or mechanical dolly, 245lbs. I hauled it by myself a half a football field. I just couldn't get it over the threshold, lol.
I am the one to check the noise in the night. I pitty the fool as I see better in the dark. One Christmas a bunch of hoodlums decided to break into my car. They never got to touch my car. I went out like a wild woman raised by wolves. Yes, I woke my dh, called the popo. Nobody came around after that, lol.
As nice as I am, I do have a dark side.
