Mallard Creek Apartments. Does anyone have experience with thes

Years ago when I was considering moving to a new area, I drove around and simply talked to people walking in the parking lot.Most influential person was the pizza delivery guy who said they did not deliver to the complex after dark. His info was enough to convince me to spend a little more and stay in tge Bubble.

@Annie : Yes! That is the very best way to get solid info. I did that when my DD was looking at the Marquis.

My DS lived there for a year before he moved to Denver for training. Of all the apartment complexes that he lived in, Mallard Creek was his favorite. It did not flood during Harvey like the Paramount across the street did, maintenance was always quick and efficient, it was a quiet place, rent was quite reasonable, and it had a private garage, etc. If she chooses the place, make sure she gets an apartment not on the back row near the freeway. Btw, his least favorite place was Discovery at Kingwood on 494, there isn't enough time to say all of the terrible things at that place.

My older sister lived there for a year and loved it . As she had a private detached garage and needed an attached garage she moved to Kings Landing which is a couple of streets north of Mallard Creek. Both apartments are nice.

It's better to choose a complex that is Not on the feeder of a major road/freeway. The Marquis in Kings River is nice; you are in a neighborhood, so can easily walk to the small park, and on the greenbelts. It is quiet, but be sure Not to get an apartment that faces the new fire station there. The staff there is nice, too. I had a friend who lived at Mallard Creek years ago, and said they were slow to repair things.

The preserve became the marquee after we moved. The preserve was very nice as we stayed three years. We had a corner second floor unit with the trees blocking the back end apartments and on the parking lot side rather than the pool facing. It was always quiet and repairs were lickity spit. In fact our ac unit gave us a hard time during the one bad drought summer. Rather than try to fix it, he asked if I'd be around for the afternoon? He was back within the hour with a brand new unit.
Funny how people say, the rent goes up every year. Rent always goes up year over year. Even now, git into this place and it's $2140.00, would have been cheaper if it wasn't a five month lease. To go month to month it would be $2610. So moving to a big house for $2600. We are paying $500 a month for storage so we will just pay a higher rent and ditch the storage. This two bed/ 2 bath wouldn't hold more than our clothes.
I do not know anything about mallard creek. I did an art show at the landing I think it was. Also a graystar at the time. The people and management was very nice, the place was clean and the people seemed to like living there.

I personally had pretty good experience with oaks of kingwood when I was living in Kingwood last. My last lease I was there they were undergoing a series of renovations so it might be worth checking out. They are located right behind the police station in Kingwood. Good luck wherever she goes. I hope you find a place you like.

Me and my husband lived there 22 years ago. We had an apartment on the bottom floor. I was pregnant with my son and then once we had our son we moved into a two bedroom apartment. I have to say this the two bedroom apartment there's a big huge single pane window and it had mold coming in and it was making us sick all the time and all they did was paint over it. They never really fixed the problem so I got out of our lease because of that reason.

@KBubbl3r : That's where she is now. She likes it, but is looking for something a little cheaper. I personally wish she would stay there. She might...she's just looking around.

Ive been at the Paramount for 16 years across the street. My ac has always been fixed same day.

Do not let her move there.
The main thing with those apts. by the highway is property crime, mainly vehicle thefts/break ins. A lot of criminals from houston see that place as easy pickings.

@radiogirl30 : well I have been in nearly every apartment complex in Kingwood except the newer outlying ones. Oaks of kingwood is going to be the cheapest, nicest, best located, least problematic apartment of all of them. The only cheaper ones have trouble living there. IE drugs and theft.
