Roadway closures
Roadway closures
Roadway closures Houston icy roads: List of closures for winter storm, map, traffic conditions today. Big picture view: The biggest concern will be the overlap of moisture and sub-freezing temperatures on Sunday, which may lead to freezing rain and sleet, especially on elevated roadways, bridges, and overpasses. Hazardous travel conditions are possible on roads and major airport delays and cancellations should be expected. Ice accumulations of a few tenths of an inch can make roads slick, and local power outages are possible where ice burdens trees and lines. If accumulations are lower, an icy glaze would be the main issue. List of closed roadways: www.fox26houston.com /news/houston-icy-ro ads-list-closures-wi nter-storm-map-

StormChaser : I am thinking the bridge to Atascocita might have some ice.

Donnawisdom : Maybe the warmer temps from the lake water are keeping it from freezing and but will be a problem later on with prolonged temps lower than 32.

LizBeth91 : The heavy rain warmed out temps 2 degrees which kept the precipitation as rain. When I saw the future radar last night I was wondering about that.

1-25-26 116pm Freezing temperatures in place for most areas currently except the coastal areas. Ice formation appears to have stopped as we have not notice any new ice areas in the last few hours. Transportation crews are working on icy bridges to the north and west. Deepending on how much sun breaks through the low clouds most of the area is likey to remain below to right around freezing this afternoon. Power outages are mainly focused in the hard hit ice areas of E and NE TX. diin
