I am gonna get a lot of hate for this but

No hate from me about the sound. Only place worse in Astros park. Music in domed stadiums just reverbs around the whole ceiling. Only decent sounding act I have seen there was Santana.

Cantaffordthis : Years ago I happened to be in Marble Falls (that's beyond Austin) when a rodeo was happening there. Not a large event but it had all the things that make a rodeo fun to see. It was held outdoors. A lot of local folks were both participating and in the stands, so many people knew each other. That rodeo was such fun! Youngsters barrel racing, younger children trying to catch calves, very serious bull riding, and the rest of the usual rodeo events. That was a very good day. I was glad I had worn my large sun hat because I sat in the stands for hours in the sun.

Cantaffordthis : I've been to the rodeo approximately 30 or so times in my life - it has definitely changed. The PRICES are what get me. 🤦‍♀️ We get tickets for free (hubby's job) but we drop $300+ on food and amusement park rides! Its so overpriced & the sound is def awful.

No arguments from me. For years had the tickets and parking and I would just give them away. I can't stand the crowds.

No hate here. I am not a rodeo fan nor do I enjoy crowds and traffic. That the tickets are only available thru resellers is a big no.

Agree. My best memories were way back when it was held
downtown at the Sam Houston Coliseum. We would go to the parade
and then go see the stock and ride the rides.

Cantaffordthis : Completely agree the acoustics are terrible for a concert. Unfortunately it's the only large venue for major tours

e : Same. The rodeo was a novelty when we first moved to Houston. I received free tickets from vendors, often in the skyboxes. When the concerts featured great talent, we'd go. But the talent level declined to the point where I'd give my tickets away to someone either in the office or in one of the stores.

Yes, we go to humble rodeo because my child was an FFA so we were participated in that one and I will be going to that one this year because they have a memorial for the Wilson family and he was a very good friend of ours so I will probably be going to that one just for that reason. I was just thinking how crazy expensive for the Houston rodeo has gotten. It costs about $4-500 for a family to go unless they get free tickets. Eating the parking carnival rides plus tickets.
