But What About Whole Foods; Are You a Fan?
Went to the WF near my son and dil's in The Woodlands. pretty much just a regular grocery store for me, but over in the deli and bakery area they have a great salad bar, good take away food, and theyre making pizza all day. Does KW need a Whole Foods?

I contacted WF at one point to ask why they haven't considered a location. They have, but they generally set up at intersections with tons of traffic. And there's just no spot in Kingwood with that traffic and income. Atascocita or Humble would have the traffic but they don't have the income.

It's been so long since I've lived in town, I can hardly remember. I wish we had one here!

I've never been to a Whole Foods Market, but was curious about it. I've heard that the prices are usually a lot higher than most grocery stores. We are getting a Sprouts store here, and I haven't been to one of those either, but I'm not sure that we would need both in KW.

LittleTexas : I have never been to a WFs. It does look like it would be a good place to shop. The salad bar looks really good!

@CatalinaKitKat :
I am having a brain block just right now. What is going into the old HEB?? Is it Sprouts?
Several years ago, when my daughter lived in the St. Louis area, a shopping center near her home had both a Whole Foods and a Trader Joe. Food prices were so high at the major local chains, Shmucks and Diertbag, that Whole Foods was her go-to store for most of her groceries. No HEB, and not even Kroger in those days. St Louis people supported their local businesses, no matter how overpriced. (Years before that, I used to smuggle Coors into town, until guys with big metal bulges under their jackets told me to stop.)

TEXASGIRLMAMMA: it is epic, and they have soups, too. Big bakery and some good prices throughout store
I used to go to WF regularly to fill up water jugs and get occasional treats. My BIG beef with them is their food bar. They put LOTS of pepper in everything. Even foods that wouldn't have pepper normally will have white pepper. I can't tolerate spicy foods so everything there is off limits except salads.

Whole Foods is awesome. A great variety of organic vegetables, and the meat and seafood departments are amazing.

Yes, the Sprouts is going in where the old HEB was on WLH and KW Drive.
