Salvation Army - do you feel guilty if you don't donate?

I guess I am the only one here who feels guilted into donating.

I do not feel guilty as I choose when and where I donate; I donate to Salvation Army, just not at every store. My brother encouraged donating to SA as they were the most helpful organization when he was in war.

Yeah I feel a little guilty when I don't put something in the bucket. I'm in and out of Smallmart so many times, I think I give as much as I can $5 at a time

cardinalsong : My problem is that during the holidays ...I am and out of the stores so much more often. Like most of us. You just can't contribute every single time.

Kittle : Glad to know that they do in fact, help those in need. So many scams out there now so one has to be mindful of where the funds are going. Sad really.

No, theyre not my chosen charity, for a few reasons. I donate generously through work, all year long.

No I don't feel guilty. I give a lot during the year to my own charities and causes. God knows my giving heart and that is all that matters.

cbear : No, never. I do targeted giving, through the year, not random $1 bills at Christmas. But I wouldn't feel guilty anyway.

I feel a little guilty when I pass one without donating. I do keep a few dollars on hand to donate at some of them, but then I feel like I have to explain that I've already donated when I pass one that I don't have any money for. Lol
