Good morning, being new to the South and the Kingwood area I can see I'm in need of pest control, to get rid of an occasional visitor that I don't want to become a frequent guest. Who do y'all recommend as a good company that's good, reliable and not too expensive? Thanks

proudgram52 : I have no suggestions but welcome to KDC. I'm sure someone will be able to tell you of a good pest control.
proudgram52 : We use Ballards. Local and very reasonable. But that won't be enough. I'd recommend treating the yard twice a year with a broad spectrum bug killer. Even with that, expect visitors. Oh, and have a plan for the occasional attic rat. Kingwood is a great place, but it's also a forrest. Good luck.
proudgram52 : A company I worked for several years back used Ballards. They were great and so friendly. I'm pretty sure they have been around for a long time.

proudgram52 : Hello and welcome to Kingwood and KDC. Bugs are an issue in our livable forest however they can be controlled . We don't use an exterminator as I don't want the chemicals inside our house. My husband sprays the outdoor base of our house with Home Defense, available at any hardware store, a couple of times a year preventatively and if we see a bug indoors, he sprays again. Bugs Be Gone in Humble has good products and advice as well.

proudgram52 : If the unwanted visitors are roaches, know this can happen. You are living in a forest with lots of organic material on the ground and it is probably close to your house. I buy Boric Acid and mix it 2 parts Boric Acid to 1 part powdered sugar. I put the mixture in bottle caps and place them in the corner of cabinets and behind the fridge and in the pantry. The roaches will be attracted to it and take it back to their nest. It seems to really keep the roaches that venture into my home under control. I also spray the outside of my home with Ortho Home Defence 2 times a year. Good luck and welcome to Kingwood! « Back to Chat
