I get nostalgic around this time of year for Fall. I miss the changing of the seasons, the colors and the cold, crisp feel of it all, and I would get excited knowing the holidays were coming up. Sometimes, I miss the food, too, and I've been down here for over 35 years. Lol

Sorry you are homesick! Hopefully you get to go back soon. Hope you found your Santa costume for halloween in two weeks.

I know the feeling, whenever I am watching a show or movie & I see shots of Boston, I realize how much I miss that city, & Cambridge. Many Great Memories there.😎

foodie tours are Really popular. sounds like you could Lead us in a good one. Road Trip/Leaf Peeping/Jersey Gastro Event; sounds fun! I feel your pain; lived away from Texas from age 25 until I was 37, and I enjoyed the places I lived, but, wow, did I Miss the Great State!

RolloTomaso : I met some Jersey folks at the Astros game, thick accent. It was a Father and Son. They were trying to get a picture of themselves with the Astros scoreboard in the background. I offered to take the pic of their special moment. Dude strikes up a conversation with us. As he's doing so, he pulls out this fat wad of cash and starts asking my boys what they were going to eat at the game (we always bring our own food). So, he starts going through the list of popular ballpark foods and when he said ice cream, their faces lit up as I'm just internally dying, because it's expensive AF.The guy is going through this wad and gives us $20. Completely unexpected! I tried declining, but he walked away and told us to enjoy the game. 😲Jersey folks are alright in my book! LMAO

Homesickness is sometimes more than just missing the physical place. It can be missing a time in life and people therein. We never stop missing special people, times, and places. Hopefully you get to revisit those places soon.

I miss Kansas City this time of year for all the above reasons, plus I can wear real clothes, they don't wear Crocs and the Chiefs play real football.......outside !!

RolloTomaso : Home sick for the way it was too. It's a shock going back and so much can change in 20+ years. Many buildings redone, culture of the area changes, more people/traffic etc. When I visited the place I grew up, some familiar areas were still the same, but what made it special was the people. And many of those people are gone now. I think it's the memories that make a place special. After a few days just seeing the buildings etc realized it was missing the heart of it if that makes sense.
