One of the oldest flower markets in Houston is Fannin Flowers, but it isn't something you want to drive that far for. However, you might want to head to The Houston Farmer's Market at 2520 Airline. Fun to walk around, and you can grab something good to eat at Burger Chan or La Lucha. Be sure to stop by El Bolillo, the Best Mexican bakery in Houston, for freshly made bolillos, tortillas, cookies and pastries, or 'panitos'. Houston Dairymaids is close by, too, and a great spot to shop for cheeses and dairy products. On a nice day, it is also fun to visit all of the murals in H-Town; you can take some great photos, and find spots to stop for a drink or a snack, in each area. The farmers market on Airline has been there for decades and is interesting. Be very careful and aware of your surroundings. I wouldn't go there alone these days.

Thank you! I have never seen one mural in 13 years here. I might wait until October break to bring my kids. Get them out and away from Xbox. lol

I go alone often, during the day; was there 2 weeks ago. they have security there, or in any area I suggested, but I have never felt unsafe. As always, be aware of your surroundings and stay off your cell phone and pay attention to where you are, at all times, actually Anywhere you go.

it's great for taking pics for Insta and FB , they will enjoy it, and the bakery has So many treats to choose from, it's a hit with all ages.

Fannin Flowers have be around so long. There is one down Kirby closure to the hospitals.
