KPRC is reporting that Lina Hidalgo will not seek reelection for County Judge. I do believe this is the best news for our County. Hopefully a grownup will be elected. Her meltdowns reminded me of being back in the classroom teaching Kindergarten.

Bsander : Sad, but true. Ed Emmitt was a good County Judge; however, most of the Houston mayors have been terrible, and now one of them is making noises about running for Little Lina's job.

I expect she saw the writing on the wall. As others have said, she's probably got her eyes trained on another position.
One with more power and that oversees larger amounts of money.
