Well, it is Official now!
My #2 grandson is officially an HPD officer being sworn in this evening. I am so very proud of him and yet so very afraid of his future.
Please keep him and all the new officers in your prayers. There is and will always be some bad apples in every bunch but remember the majority of these officers, are here to protect, serve and defend us. I would not walk a day in there shoes. May God be with them all.

Kudos to him. My father was a police officer his entire career. It is a difficult and thankless job that requires a kind of selflessness that most people don't have.

Congrats to your grandson. There are definitely much more good people than bad. And most of the bad things that happen are just good people who simply made incorrect decisions under the type of stress that would result in most people also making improper decisions.

My younger brother was going to do that when he retired from the military.

Prayers for his safety and for guidance in all situations. I know this feeling of fear deeply but, it is a honorable profession.

A good career, with good retirement, and a lot of different options both with HPD and with the state or the feds if he wants to do different tasks. And congrats for making it through the academy. That in itself is quite an accomplishment. Hoping he gets a couple of good training officers/
