Your thoughts…we have spent thousands of dollars on expensive hearing aids from the ENT group in the North Towers Building by Kingwood Hospital for a family member who has been in the hospital for five weeks. His hearing aide for the only ear he can hear out of broke (has not works over four different times). I took it up (they are on the fourth floor) to see if it was a quick fix as he has not been able to communicate with his doctors or healthcare team very well. They said it needs to be sent to factory ..I said fine but can you give us a "loaner" so he can understand his physicians and care team… they said that he cannot be given a loaner while in hospital because people lose them. No exceptions. These people do NOT have empathy for their patients!! Always remember the saying " but by the grace of God there you go"…needless to say we will not be spending anymore money with this group. I had to go to hospital and let him know he cannot hear for a few more days. This ENT IS TOTALLY DISGUSTING TO TREAT AN PATIENT THIS WAY !!!!!

Doddlebug50 : I never knew they would give loaners/temporary ones until the last couple of weeks. Mom goes to New Sound Hearing over by Quest and they gave her a pair of loaners when they sent hers off. She got hers back today. I wonder if they'd be able to help you. Maybe he can communicate through typing on an iPad or phone in the meantime.
Doddlebug50 : DH has hearing aids from Costco. Great price and great service. Although he cleans them daily, he drops them off for cleaning when we shop and picks them up appropriately 10-15 minutes later.

Doddlebug50 : I feel so bad for your loved one. Not being able to hear is awful and I think they should have given him a loaner. It is disgusting to me that they didn't! Praying they get his hearing aide fixed quickly!
KanKan : He's very weak…intensive heavy duty IV antibiotics for a month in hospital, pneumonia , drug resistant infection that entered bloodstream and has cancer….now in physical therapy rehab. I cannot imagine treating a human being like they did. It must be very scary to not be able to hear and not understanding what is going on. Breaks my ♥️.
Doddlebug50 : So did you think about buying an inexpensive hearing aid to get him through this period?
