Slum landlord advice needed. My son has had it and wants to break his lease. The bathroom conditions are deplorable. He has reported it, reported it and reported it and nothing gets done. It is dangerously unhealthy. We need as many resources as possible. I have suggested reporting to BBB, Houston apartment association. He is going to threaten to take these pictures to places such as Yelp, google reviews, **** consumer etc. I am attaching pictures so please scroll but I warn you...a bit shocking. Thanks for y'alls help.

cbear: That is deplorable . I'd contact the investigative group at Channel 2 - Amy or Mario.
Personally, I think Yelp and Google will do little other than warn other potential renters of these conditions. He needs more aggressive like the media that can expose what is going on. - Amy Davis, (KPRC Investigates) or Wayne Dolcefino (independent). I would contact local media channel 2, 11, 13 or 26. I would also go higher up the food chain to the owner/developer who owns the complex (local, district or national), not just the local/on-site manager. I would also contact a lawyer to help him legally break his lease if he doesn't want to stay there.
donnatella : I did think of Wayne Dolcefino but forgot about our very own Amy Davis. He does have a law firm he is going to get an appt with shortly. Right now...the managment team is changing so it may be difficult to get to the right person. Thanks for the suggestions on Amy Davis and local news stations.
Gigix4 : Agree. Contact the Public Health Department and include pictures. In the meantime, get out if you can afford it.
cbear : Yes. Houston Apartment Association, I used them to get a deposit back years ago. News Channels. Anyone and everyone. Is there anything in the lease that states he can break it with no consequences. Sorry. I haven't read all the posts on here yet. « Back to Chat
