Texasdad : One thing I love about Houston is that you can get every kind of authentic ethnic food. Not just Tex-Mex, Americanized Asian food, etc. When I traveled to various places around the world, I always at what the locals ate.
jv339 : I always know how nice it is here. When you go to Jamaica and can say I live in a beautiful place. I once stated that a resort in Jamaica and the Jamaica guy says you just haven't seen all of Jamaica. There was a lady sitting close to me said to him said you have never seen Kingwood. I asked her where she was lived. The answer was Porter.
Point being Jamaica is totally gorgeous place. But so is Kingwood, and here it is relatively safe as well.
Texasdad : Thank you. Kingwood/Houston frequently gets bad reviews. Yes, there are not so good issues however the positives far outweigh the negatives.

Today was a good day. Back in Kingwood, which is nice. We really do live in a nice area. Went downtown East side had a few beers with my son. and one of my favorite bars in little Mexico. Gringos are welcome. I really like Houston. Travel the world and you realize we live quite comfortably in Texas.
Texasdad : Just returned from Portugal. They call us spoiled. They are not wrong. Our small town feel may be changing to our dismay, but we are still the grandest by far! This discussion has been locked.
