I just read on the Humble ISD website that the School Board Position 4 winner was declared ineligible. The board now has 2 choices appoint a the new board member after the new board take over or have a special election. I believe a special election would be very costly. According to Texas law it is not allowed to give the seat to the person who came in second. More hits and wasteful money for Humble ISD. The problem was that the candidate did not change her voter's registered from her previous address, which was Houston ISD area.

You would think someone somewhere would have verified eligibility BEFORE adding the name to the ballot.

What I am saying the winner was declared ineligibility. So there either has to be a special election or the school board votes on a replacement. It can be anyone not just the candidates that were on the ballad

I say new election. I met Gracie De Leon who lost in her election-and I was very impressed with her knowledge of the schools and programs. I hope she would consider running.

If a special election would be very costly, I wonder if it would be worth it. It seems like there was a low voter turnout this year, and that could affect their decision.
