Buffetopia in Humble - has anyone been there? How was the food

We thought it was good. It's a buffet so the food is never top shelf, but it's new, clean, bright, and a great selection. They even have a Hibachi area of the buffet (included). I unfortunately saw the Hibachi area too late as I had already eaten my share. The only gripe I would have is the parking lot. It's usually full, hard to find a spot and the parking spaces are super small.

It was good especially the sushi! Agreed the parking is a problem unless you go real early.

I'm not a fan of buffets but I have seen photos of the place. It appeared to be clean and bright. Those that like buffets should enjoy it. I hope they do well.

ILoveReading : I didn't have the crab legs. They were relatively small and it seemed that it would be too much work for not enough crab. I'm nothing if not lazy.
I don't remember the exact cost but I believe it was around $22 a head.

ILoveReading : Oddly enough it's not on their website. I think they gave me $2 off for being a senior. That brought it down to about $20 for me.

I was there a month or so ago with my wife. Great looking place. Bright, clean, spacious. Lots of options on the buffet. We found the sushi pretty decent for buffet sushi (though Umiya's all you can eat deal is way, way better and not much more expensive to scratch a real sushi itch...) but the Chinese food was very disappointing. The dominant flavor on the Chinese dishes was sweet. There was very little flavor to it beyond that and the things that should have been spicy just really were not. My wife loves sesame balls and felt they really screwed them up as they were kind of soggy. We did not try the hot pot. I think the Chinese buffet in Porter is significantly better in terms of taste (but I don't trust their sushi...). I would say it was OK and we'll give them another try in a few months and see if they've corrected the things we weren't happy with.

If you go to this place - skip their desert and stop by the Korean donut place in the same center - Totoro. That is a fun place to go and their mochi donuts are unique and quite tasty. They also have corn dogs that looked good but we didn't try them.

We went. I thought everything I got was good but I am not really a fan of buffet eating. I liked the hibachi grill the best. Dessert was not worth the calories.

The boil used on the shrimp, crab legs and crawfish is not what you are used to.

We did not go there; I was just curious as the hair stylist was speaking highly of the place. DS said he's been there and it was "ok". Price of $22 per person, if you eat a lot, it would be worth it but I no longer fit that category. Thank you all for addressing the question!
