Drivers Reminded to Use Caution at Dark Traffic Lights
DARK TRAFFIC LIGHTS Constable Mark Herman's office reminds motorists to obey the law and use caution when approaching a "dark intersection".
If a traffic signal is not working properly at an intersection, drivers are still required by law to exercise care and caution and stop at the clearly marked stop line or before entering any crosswalk or intersection. After the driver has stopped, he or she must yield the right of way to any vehicles or pedestrians in the intersection. The driver should remain stopped until they can safely proceed through the intersection. Drivers are encouraged as they travel, to continue to exercise caution and courtesy. At an intersection where the signal is not working properly, attempt to communicate your intentions as well as determine the intentions of the other driver. If you are unsure of how to proceed, allow the other driver go before you, even if you have the right of way. It is better to allow someone to go ahead of you than to risk an intersection crash. Drive safe everyone!

Sure would love to see drivers take this advice as they approach the Kingwood Drive/Forest Garden intersection. Recently, there was a downed power line that caused damage to traffic signals and electrical supply lines in the area. Over the past couple of days, lights may be working properly, or they may be flashing, and some of the time there are no signal lights at all. Centerpoint and electrical contractors are working to locate and repair the damaged lines. PLEASE use caution as you approach this intersection.
There's too many KW drivers that cannot obey the law even when the lights are working. WLHP @ Rustic Woods is extremely dangerous.
or if you are new to the Kingwood 500 or Northpark Grand Prix:
no light= slam the throttle
green light= mash the gas
yellow light=don't stop the car behind you isn't either
red light= we can still squeeze one or two more cars through the intersection so accelerate

Around the corner on Highland Laurel, there is a orange electric cord running across the street. In Bear Branch there is a black electric cord running along the curb on Tree Lane. I wonder when those will be properly fixed?
I was sitting at a red light last night with no traffic in sight, when another car pulls up behind me and flashes his lights. A few seconds go by and he flashed them again and I realized he wanted me to run the light and go through since there was no other traffic. The lights weren't out or malfunctioning. We were just waiting at a red light with no cross traffic in sight. Is that common here, to run the red light if there's no cross traffic? Or was that driver just a jerk?
I have seen those cords and wondered who is responsible for them. I have assumed they might have something to do with the Comcast project. I serve on the Sand Creek HOA Board and am responsible for the maintenance at our entrances, so I usually know what is going on there, but don't usually receive any updates on other situations.
Would be nice to see more road signs reminding people to keep their slow behinds in the right lanes of the interstate. And little reminders of when you enter the freeway, the ramp is to transition to freeway speeds, not take your slow 40mph rear from the frontage to the freeway and still be doing 40
