Thrift stores I made the mistake of going into the Familytime Thrift Shop in Porter on Loop 494. It is an awful place! I overheard the workers saying they are closing that location and moving to Kingwood. They could not say where in Kingwood. I wonder if it is true. Have you heard this place is moving?

TEXASGIRLMAMMA: I haven't heard but would be surprised if they could afford to move into Kingwood. It used to be under a nice lady years ago. Last time I went it was really disorganized and there were complaints against the new manager. This was pre Covid. I don't know if true as I haven't been back.

peppermintstick : Well, it is horrid now and on top of all that the AC is out. I am surprised they did not close for the day. They did have fans all over. I feel bad for the people working there. I think you are right, they will not be able to afford Kingwood even if it was on Northpark.

J2911 : It's sad! The inside is not much better at the time. If they really move I hope they can get a better place with more space.

TEXASGIRLMAMMA : Oh that places is really nasty! The other one on 494 is a lot better but they should not call it a thrift store. Village Thrift should come out of the closet and call themselves what they are, an antiques and collectibles store, the prices reflect that same idea, nothing thrifty about it!
luannski : I think that's a big part of the equation. People dump a lot of un-usable things and the thrift/charity has to pay for disposing of it.

TEXASGIRLMAMMA : I watch a lady on Youtube that makes a living buying at thrift stores and reselling on Ebay. She would have a heart attack and die if she saw the prices at "Village Thrift". They are an antique store posing as a thrift store, very disingenuous.
