If you've been on a Disney cruise, was it worth the extra money and do you think teenagers would enjoy it as much as younger kids? 4951

I've only been on a regular cruise, but my sister's family (all grown) went on the Disney cruise and really enjoyed it. 4951

@CBP210:

It is pretty easy to do it yourself on the Disney website... have done it a number of times and would help you out if you were interested...

@Andreweggplant: I might have to hit you up on that. The only issue right now is that I have to pre-notify the disabled service as my son has autism and long lines are not an option.

Will you stay at a Disney hotel or one in the area?We were longtime annual p******ders at Disneyland and I used Priceline for all our hotels. If you Name Your Price, select the area nearest to Disneyland, and then go for the highest number of star ratings, you can get a very, very good price on some excellent hotels. 4951

 Disney World just has so much more than Disneyland..... Walt Disney was smart buying up all that extra land in Flordia...  Disneyland just ran out of space.. sad. 4951

My Best Friend has a son who is autistic and loves Disney. We have been a number of times and call to get the services for disabilities. They are pretty accommodating...

I just saw that Disney is about to be running a ship from Galveston. That would make it way more convenient! 4951

@Andreweggplant: We were told the same thing by parents in autism support group and wanted to make sure there was no special thing I had to due.

@CBP210: That's why I started this thread. We haven't been on an actual vacation all year and I was looking at a Disney cruise out of Galveston. $6800 for a 7 night cruise, large family cabin with verandah. It's more than we would normally spend on a cruise, and I'm trying to decide if it's worth it or make plans for something else. 4951

I've heard good things about them.
Personally, I would not go on a cruise ship loaded up with other people's kids. 4951

@HollyHobby: Have your teenagers voiced an opinion? They may enjoy the chance to be a kid again. Years fly by, & soon they will be grown.Is your youngest old enough to appreciate it? I'm sure their friends would be envious!I had to look at pics of the ship once I learned about it coming to Galveston, & it looks amazing!I'm thinking that once word gets out about it sailing out of Galveston, it will book quickly. If you have dates that work for you, I say go for it! 4951

Disney cruises are amazing and worth every penny. Depending on the age of your kids their kids clubs are awesome! We have been on several. The Disney Wonder out of Galveston is only here Nov-Dec and leaves first week of January for repositioning.

As for the parks, if you go just go to Guest Seevices for a disability pass that helps with the lines for the rides.

@HollyHobby:
Is that the cost for the whole family? Was not sure what a Disney Cruise would cost.
