Maybe I've raised my kids too soft, LOL.  I tried to show them the Michael Jackson Thriller video last night since we are coming up on Halloween. They both had a meltdown in the first minute when Michael turns into the werewolf. So I tried to fast forward it to show them the dancing and song and they were still not happy about it. So strange, this video came out when I was 3, not sure when I first saw it, but I don't remember ever being scared of it.  When I was a kid I thought it was the coolest thing Id ever seen. Also the Dark Crystal was a no go which was another one of my favorites as a kid. Maybe kids stuff was just creepier in the 80s so it didn't phase us as much. 4951

Before the Disney version, Cinderella, was pretty gruesome. Of course I was raised thinking the prince was a completely self centered idiot, as the ball was not a masquerade party, he should be able to recognize the person he danced with for hours. 4951

I don't even watch scary movies any more, I don't find them scary.OK, unless it is a werewolf. But that is another story. So tired of vampires. Hate vampire movies, don't know why, just do.Not scared of vampires in any way, just think they are boring.Still like zombies however. But not the touchy feely ones.Don't like the walking dead any longer however. 4951

I remember it scared my kids as well a couple years ago when they saw it for the first time!  I thought they would like it, because they liked the song.  One was freaked out by the changing of the werewolf and the zombies, the other was fine until the very end when Jackson's eyes change.I ended up showing them clips on how the video was made.  It was good for them because they saw the costumes, make up, saw him putting in contacts, saw the "zombies" laughing, etc.  They were still a little freaked and didn't want to watch it, but at least it helped with the initial fear. They enjoy watching it now and talk about how great the special effects were at that time.  : ). 4951

Well, @ZMAN, there's always the Halloween Town series for the kids.  I think that's Disney, but not sure.  I had to watch it when The Boy was younger.  Cute, tolerable, but once they outgrow it, you don't miss it.  Also try the original Hocus Pocus, which is also cute with a little adventure. 4951

When I watched Old Yeller when I was about 10, in the movie theater, I cried when the dog dies. This was back in the 60's. 4951
