When we moived back down here, i guess 12 or 13 years now..before, i didnt know it had shut down. I had told my kids how much fun it wod be and we could go all the time..then we got here and i became the worst mom EVER, no fault of my own.

We always had season passes growing up. My dad was a big kid. We were there at least a couple of times every month, if not more..then also for christmas and halloween. I only went to water world a couple of times.

We always did the barrel of fun and antique cars first, alpine sleigh ride when we got hot..never left without the mini loaf of bread. 4951

Ive never understood water rides. Paying to have a golden shower?

Not my thing but hey, if it works for you....

@Stealth83:

Water rides are the best, it's the aftermath that's the worst part. Walking in the wet clothes....yuck! 4951

I have very little faith in grand texas.  those folks have crowed about how much experience they have in amusement parks, yet were unaware that undeveloped land would need infrastructure to support a project of this size 4951

I loved Astro World too! It was such a big part of my child hood. I was very upset when they tore it down. We had season passes every summer and sometimes I would go 3-4 times a week during the summer time. When I was about 12-13 my mom would drop me and my best friend off there in the morning and come back to get me like 8 to 10 hours later. Id go all day with less than 5 bucks in my pocket and a peanut butter sandwich in my backpack. I remember hunting for abandoned souvenir cups so I could rinse them out and get the cheaper soda refills. Sometimes I'd ride Sky Screamer just to try a dig some change out of the crack behind the seat so I could play a couple games in the arcade (there was always lots because of people wanting to see it float on their knee when the ride fell).I had numerous "dates" there too, making out in the cable cars always felt so dangerous and romantic, LOL. The best  was when Id be there on a slow night (mostly during Holiday in the park) and it would be a total free for all. No lines on anything. Sometimes you wouldn't even have to get off the ride, you could just stay on and ride it over and over, I remember one time I did greased Lightning 20+ times in a row without getting off the ride.They would run it, then say "Do yall want to go again?" It was the best. 4951

That was me and my brother growing up too.  My mom would drop us off in the morning with five bucks and a quarter each (to call when we were done).  They must have under-priced those season passes! 4951
