You can actually die from this. Money is not worth your life. You can always catch up later. 4951

Get to the damn hospital!  Now!  Dumb husband did almost the same thing as you did @SwaggyG.  Finally went to the doctor, got a CT and ended up at the emergency room at St. Luke's with appendicitis.  Went in for the surgery.  As soon as that happened, it ruptured.  Not good.  Hospital stay is a whole lot longer because it wasn't tended to earlier.   4951

I am not a doctor and cannot give medical advice, but I had a relative that went to ER with appendicitis and it turned to septic. He was in pain for a few days before going to ER. 4951

Was driving home Thursday and reached forward to pick up a water bottle and felt a nice sharp pain below my belly button. By midnight the pain was pretty intense and had a 103 fever and extremely bloated. Was up all night to. I know I have experienced mild symptoms like this over the years but nothing this extreme. Managed to tough out one more day of work and hit a clinic on the way and he told me I should probably go to the ER and get a ct scan. Turned my business phone off in defeat and I did the exact opposite and just went home and started looking a natural cures. Been drinking lots of water with lemons and no food since yesterday. Fever is now gone but I still feel bloated and still feel pain but nowhere near as extreme as yesterday. I’m going to try to not eat until Monday and then nothing but fruit for a week. Being self employed I don’t have weeks to take off from work recovering and I really don’t want to give up a body part either. I guess all the bacon wrap shrimp tacos have finally caught up to me this year. Anyone on here ever successfully win this battle without ending up on the chopping block. I’m just so bummed too that the weather is so nice and I’m not on the lake either.

@SwaggyG: Better to play safe---let the Dr rule out appendicitis (not curable) if rupture can cause peritonitis. I have no med experience but that is what i heard from others in similar instances. If you are self employee for more reasons to go see a Dr at the ER. Take care of it. Best wishes!

Not something to mess with.  If it is the appendix the surgery is much easier now,  out of commission a week +/-... but if it ruptures you would be in for a long recovery as a ruptured appendix almost always results in peritonitis at best.   4951

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE GO TO THE HOSPITAL.  You cannot cure an inflamed appendix. You may be OK right now, but your appendix can rupture during the night by you just turning over in bed. What was said above about others who have experienced a ruptured appendix is true - the hospital stay is long....they have to clear the abdominal cavity of all the poison that spewed out during the rupture. As for the length of stay for a unruptured appendix - it's basically a day surgery - you go in at a given time, they put you under and once you are recovered, you are discharged that day. Then you have to be very careful lifting things for about a week so the incisions can heal (the incisions are tiny now). I'm sure the other nurses on here will agree with me. NOW GET TO THE HOSPITAL!!!  4951

Swaggy, this is serious. It doesn't get better and it doesn't go away. If your appendix burst you could die. Please listen to reason, go. 4951

Nothing to fool with, my mom almost died from a ruptured appendix.  Granted it was a long time ago, but there is no cure. 4951
