My little buddy Yacko's ears have not been doing well. The french bulldog forums all boast about a home made ear cleaner that uses some borax. I cant find it anywhere at the grocery or drug stores. Any advice where to buy locally or can you only buy it online now?

I've bought Borax at Kroger before. I'm wondering, though, with all of the cleaning going on right now that they're just running out of stock? Try the big hardware stores or it just might be best to Amazon Prime it! 4951

I would just prime it. I did get a dog ear cleaner from PetCo that works pretty decent on my poodle. No clue what is in it. I also have prescription ear drops from the vet that I use when her ears are really bothering her. They don't even make me bring her in. 4951

We had an old german shepard who has an ear tumor that required cleaning daily for a few years. We landed on something called 'K9 Miracle Ear Elixir' that seemed to work the best in getting the gunk and wax out, had to get it online.  4951

All you need to do is to mix the vinegar with the boric acid and add the rubbing alcohol after. If you wish to make it even more sterile, you can add some extra drops of povidone-iodine.It is important to shake them firmly to mix them together. However, it is mandatory to remember that povidone-iodine has an intense smell and can leave strains, so if your dog’s fur is white you can omit it. 4951

My vet told me to use half rubbing alcohol and half regular vinegar with a drop or two of dish soap.  She uses that same solution on her dog's ears.  I have been using it for about a year and my golden's ears looks great, but she hates the smell of the  vinegar.  Emoticon 4951

I just use the dog ear cleaner from Petco, works good, is not real expensive.Plus the bottle makes it easier to get it in a 100 pound Great Pyr. 4951
