I’m just curious about this mosquito spray?
Anyone one really know anything about it?
What are they using & is it going to give us cancer?
Between the Power Plant explosion & chemicals that end up in the air & now this? 4951

I've heard it's pretty toxic- but then so is anything with DEET.
And we live just North of one of the most polluted air areas in the US according to the EPA-down in the refinery area. When the EPA checks the sample box in hazmat suits. And yet we drive right by that area when going to the USS Texas/ San Jacinto Monument. All that air gets blown up over us whenever there is a South wind- which is almost everyday.

So it's pretty easy to pick your poison here in Houston 😥.
The spray did nothing to the bees living in my neighbors house...yet. I am going to take down and wash my hummingbird feeders 4951

Speaking of cancer and death....not to change the subject, but...have you ever realized that the only thing we absolutely have to do in this world is die? Everything else is a choice/optional. 4951

I certainly wouldn’t go dancing around outside when you hear the plane in the area, and if you are outside, I’d go in for the evening (just good common sense). Aside from that it should be no different than the regular mosquito truck. It’s just a larger scale treatment fromnwhet I’ve heard.

This isn’t a mass conspiracy to poison everyone in the HKA area. 4951

Eucalyptus spray works pretty good. Deet is toxic but it is the best. I wear long shirts and pants and only apply it to my neck so it's about moderation. It should not be used like Axe body spray IMO. Military has some stuff and it is super Deet. Only used it once but had to during Katrina. Swarms looked like plagues where I was working. 4951

@ZMAN: After being born, the only thing that you absolutely have no choice over is dying. You can choose not to eat, drink, poop, breathe, etc. What is the result? Death. 4951

Q: What are they using & is it going to give us cancer? A: If is even killing the beneficial insects, i.e. butterflies, moths, etc including small birds, hummingbirds, mockingbirds, cardinals; and, making the outdoor feral cats -- as I hear some of them  coughing we can bet WE are not exempt. Eliminate as many of the beneficial species as much as possible. The mosquitoes will survive those mofos wear-masks 4951

@Lily123: I am sure it is just the usual stuff they spray from trucks, but are doing it from the air for better coverage and effectiveness, to prevent an outbreak of mosquito-borne disease.  Although I am no doctor, I am confident in saying that if you live long enough you will get cancer.  People have been dying from cancer since we evolved on this planet, and pesticides only came along in the last 100 years...  While I wouldn't go out and chase the plane breathing in all I could, I seriously doubt it is more harmful than, say, malaria.  Or Zika. 4951
