@Retired_EngineerWhat kind of scanner do you have? Â I think it was you whose recommendation I followed a few years ago regarding the brand of scanner. Â But now I just realized it was probably ruined in the flood. Â Think I'm gonna need a replacement.
@SandyKnee: The scanner I have is a Pandigital that scans photos, slides, and negatives. They don't make the model I have any longer. It's similar to this one:https://www.amazon.com/Pandigital-Photolink-PANSCN05-Discontinued-Manufacturer/dp/B0035WTCTU/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1506096630&sr=8-1-fkmr0&keywords=Pandigital+photo+scanner+automatic+feederOne of the things you have to do regularly with this type scanner is to clean the scanner glass and the rollers that feed your photos through the scanner. If you don't, you'll get streaks in your digital photos. The scanning slit seems to attract dust, so keep it in a plastic bag when not using it. One of the things my model did was allow you to scan photos in either 300dpi or 600dpi. 300dpi works very well for most 4"X6" (or smaller) photos. The model shown scans slides and negatives at 1200dpi since those items are much smaller.Originally, I used a small scanner specifically for slides. I don't remember the brand because after I scanned all my slides, I gave it to my FIL so he could scan his slides. For any pictures larger than 4"X6", I have a multipurpose printer, flatbed scanner, copier, FAX.Â
Good luck! 4951
