But the other side, is worse, i however only used one side, so i don't understand what this black crap is, or where it came from.

Thats weird. Do you usually run it in the dish washer? I will spray mine down with the bleach spray I use on the counters, rinse it off then put it i n the dish washer. It's still white and more than 15 years old. 4951

@FoFa:

I put my cutting boards, mats etc in my dishwasher. I've honestly never seen anything like that.
Could your piping to the machine not have been flushed after the flooding?
Did you drain your hot water heater?
Could it be a chemical reaction to the tab of soap?
I'd chuck that thing out. Looks scary 4951

We didn't flood (thank you Lord), my wife washed these all the time. I thought many mildew, but i can't even scrub it off actually these pics were after I tried scrubbing them.
Used a brush and green scrubber pad.

How weird. I put mine in the dish washer after washing them off all the time and never had that happen. 4951

I agree with @beadweaver, chuck it. The knife lines are so clearly visible and they are where bacteria etc cling and get caught. Bleach will certainly clean it up, but I think it looks like it has served it's purpose. 4951

Just because you did not flood (thank you Jesus) does not mean the lines did not get polluted, break at some point you don't know yet, or silt in the water itself attaching to the cuts in the board.
Even when things look a little more normal on the outside, doesn't mean it's okay.
Are you on any boil water etc. 4951

Trash it.  Not worth the worry about what is on it or in it. 4951

Being 57 years old I've learned a few things going through some disasters, and life lessons.
One thing I learned is....... time is money.
Somethings are precious enough, some too expensive to replace, others just are not worth the time it takes so you chuck it out and buy a new one.
As for cutting boards, I have my glass one, my wooden one (too heavy to drag out most times), and I have my flexable cutting mats.
I like the cheap flexable ones the best. They come red for meat, green for veggie, etc. Come in a three or 5 pack and last forever. Just toss in the dishwasher.
I also use them for art projects and when the kids are here wanting to get creative. Paint and glue come right off.
But most I've learned some things need replacing soon than you usually do.
Throw that thing away and stay healthy. 4951
