Just watched the video of Mayor Turner speaking in KW. The best part was the other two guys who chimed in at the end regarding the Lake Conroe Dam asking the question: Whose interests are they protecting?

@djchavez0921: Well said Mr. Martin thumbs up to him "Rethink Flooding--- Protecting properties for whom? Woodlands got zero!  Read between the lines, and listen to the efforts done to prevent by coordinating in advance with Lake Houston by dropping the levels...before the natural deluge came...ah not the same action by Conroe's Authority (where Martin had no control) but Conroe couldn't give a hoot about what we are now facing.

That was a great interview. Thank you councilman Dave Martin. Anybody notice our former councilman Mike Sullivan didn't say a damn thing? So glad he's not in the office anymore. 4951

Conroe was never intended to be party barge central. It was suppose to be a water conservation effort. Recreation was not even on the table. Empty ALL OF IT before a severe storm. Every single drop. Dump it. The deluge from tributaries and rain would have filled it back up for conservation.Screw the fish they stocked it with. Insane Woodlands gets 0% flooding and we get blasted for the second time from a sicking decision making process that protects the few and screws the many. Gotta stop.   4951

Turner is a coward. He can speak to it but will not. He knows 100% the facts of the situation. Spineless. I noticed at the shelters he was hugging a lot of black people on TV. Paid almost no attention to anyone white. I watched this happen numerous times. He was completely focused on his own race. Disgusting human being. 4951

No. Lake Houston is a natural lake made from decaying dinosaurs. They rotted out over billions of years and and it formed a shallow lake. If you go snorkeling you will find all kinds of crazy dino bones. 4951

@beastmode:

Why on Earth would anyone snorkel in Lake Houston when you can't see more than an inch in front of your mask?

The 2 am release without warning was rediculous. My neighbors dont even live in a flood plane and had a foot of water coming into their house before daylight that morning. 4951

No.... Lake Houston was largely created as a result of fill sand removal needed to create the "platform" for IAH.  All the Sandy material (alluvial ) was removed down to more clay like material.  This is basically why the lake is more "muddy" than something like lake conroe 4951

Something needs to be done. They can't release in the middle of the night like that. I don't give a crap if your lake ends up a little low. 4951

@gigem09:

It's not a lake. It's a reservoir for water conservation. They are not using the reservoir for water conservation. Strictly recreational boating and fishing. 4951

@beastmode:  This may be the most ridiculous thing I've ever read.
