With rain blowing sideways, the water may just be getting in at the top and dripping down inside your chimney.  Chimney top caps aren't designed for horizontal rain. 4951

Same here. We've had rain slowly dripping into our fireplace on and off since yesterday. 4951

We have buckets in our fireplace. The harder it rains, the more it drips...it figures... 4951

I put a large plastic tub in there. Not a big deal unless you see water spots near the ceiling then you have a real issue. 4951

If the wind has blown your chimney top cap off or partially off, that may be the problem. 4951

Our water is seeping in from the bottom walls and the exterior is clear and sloped to drain into our yard 4951

Thanks for all the comments. Am having the same problem. Never really thought much about the cap and the way rain was coming down at a angle, makes sense. Will probably call WESCO Roofing anyway to come out and check the flashing just to make sure. 4951
