I arrived at work today near the Subway on Northpark to see the delivery man tip over a load of supplies and watched him pick up the tomatoes that rolled away back into the box and proceed to deliver them anyway... think I'll be eating elsewhere for a few weeks

Why? Hopefully they are going to be washed first anyway and you realize tomatoes are grown in dirt? 4951

Tomatoes, not a problem. Was there anything else that concerned you? 4951

@BooBear:  I was thinking the same thing.  Although we know they grow in dirt and fertilizer (likely manure), and are also handled many times by many people, it's still not appetizing to see it happen.

@donnatella: The tomatoes would have to be washed anyway once inside the subway, or, if that isn't the practice, then that means most/all of the veggies in subway are not handled well (regardless of rolling on the concrete) and those of us who eat subway on occasion are a lot tougher versus germs then we thought we were!
