Marriott Rivercenter is nice and central to a lot of riverwak action.

Decent full service hotel, decent bar and pool. Attached to the mall and easy walking distance to RW places. 4951

It's also very near the Alamo, and the downtown area with Ripleys and Pat O'Brien's. 4951

I was going to say the same place. Ive stayed there before and its decent, seemed to be slightly cheaper than the rest too. I got it on priceline as one of their featured deals. 4951

@DVaz: New Braunfels, right?  Great place for breakfast.  Also Gruene, Texas is an awesome stop on the way back home. www.gruenetexas.com/   Great Texas music, antique shopping, small town shopping, and The Gristmill River Restaurant is a must try. No reason at all to eat at any chains with so many unique places between Kingwood and San Antonio.

Schulenburg, actually. Definitely eat at the mom and pop restaurants. Fresh food is always better and the portions are usually bigger. 4951

@GoldenGirl, it isn't at the River Walk, but the Hill Country Hilton is fabulous.  Their pools are amazing. The restaurants on site, are wonderful.  Hands down my fav place to stay in SA.Or we stay at the Marriott on the River Walk.  I just can't remember their pool.  We always stay there in Nov, and get a room facing the River Walk.  You can watch Santa come down the river and they light up the Christmas lights Thanksgiving weekend.

@Fallon:

I considered the Hill Country Inn - but I don't want to deal with a lot of kids... LOL 4951

I looked at this place but they don't really show many pics of the pool.. I really would be bummed out if the pool sucked. 4951

Azuca-great food and drinks on S. Alamo. They serve a fusion of Puerto Rican food. I have only been at lunch so I can't tell you about the late night Salsa dancing lessons. Favorite lunch entrees are the Ropa Vieja and the crab topped salmon.

Boudros - Prickly pear margaritas are the must have drink. I prefer the dinner menu rather than the lunch menu. Some favorites- filet, shrimp enchiladas wrapped with the lightest tortilla ever to touch your tongue and tableside guacamole. 4951

@GoldenGirlDude, we've stayed at, and thoroughly enjoyed, Hotel Valencia Riverwalk, when visiting San Antonio.... It's right on the Riverwalk, and is walking distance to the Alamo, the Shops at River City Mall, several restaurants, bars, etc etc.... ...And the digs are straight Baller-Shot-Caller!Best Wishes for an absolutely outstanding, relaxing getaway, my friend....

@DVaz: I've been there it was years ago, but I remember it being good home cooking.
