"For more than 45 years, The Clubs of Kingwood has been a part of the foundation of the Kingwood community. We take great pride in being a part of this community, including the many Kingwood events, festivals and, especially, the neighborhood Fourth of July celebrations. For more than 10 years, Kingwood Country Club has served as the host site of the fireworks display.This year’s decision by Town Center Park, The Clubs of Kingwood and the Pyrotech engineer to move the community fireworks display to a higher elevation was not intended to limit visibility to those in the community. It was, in fact, moved with the understanding the new location would provide a better view for surrounding areas. We regret this did not happen and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience to your holiday plans. As a gesture of our commitment to the Kingwood community, we, along with Town Center Park, will provide a Labor Day weekend fireworks show. More information will be communicated – including the best viewing locations – as the details are finalized.We also will be opening the Club Water Park to the community on July 21 from 12 to 8 p.m. Please stop by and enjoy our two pools, diving area, Big Kahuna water slide, lazy river and more. Please RSVP ahead of time by clicking the link below and completing a short form so that you and your family are added to our guest list. We look forward to seeing you!"Please RSVP Here!!! 4951

That's good they apologized. Hopefully, people can move on now. So there will be another firework show on Labor Day. So there is a Do-over coming. 4951

Thank you. I, for one, don't feel entitled to this generous jester, but very appreciative. Fireworks and the Fourth of July are synonymous just like apple pie and ice cream. People were simply disappointed not mad because they felt entitled. I know a lot of work goes into making the community's festivities so special. Hopefully people will go and enjoy your offer to the water park for a day of fun. I'm also sure the community appreciates your kind offer to supply another fireworks show on Labor Day. 4951

Check out a topographical map. The "higher elevation" is a rise of 2 feet. They moved it 0.92 miles further away to a spot 2 feet higher.

The club made more money off their ticket and food and beverage sales than their "sponsorship" ever cost them.

Won't be going to their water park, or anything else that gets held there. 4951

@BooBear: I saved sparklers, you can have those and a Zinfandel so they and you can be lit. If I knew how, at this juncture, I would add a smiley face, bottle of wine and something sparkly.  4951

@LJCarter: You should-the view for the fireworks is great. Their brunch is great-and the golf courses (being that there are 4, even 5 depending on which m/ship) are the best around.

Brilliant on their part.

Give the little people a taste of the country club life, getting their kids all riled up, then show them fireworks up close and personal. What a brilliant sales pitch.

I bet they raise their prices at the concession stand at the pool that day...whatcha wanna bet.

@mutton:

It wouldn't have gone anywhere had they just tested the fireworks location beforehand.

Brilliant!

@jax, it is genius on their part.  You have to sign up to go to the pool that free day, so they get a whole new pool of people to put on their mailing list.  Genius!It is really decent of them, but from a business point of view, sheer genius.
