Question for the ladies..Do you do your own eyebrows or go to someone? I'm looking for someone knowledgeable in shaping eyebrows specifically.Not wanting to pay an arm and leg though.Thanks 4951

I don't have them done too frequently, maybe once a quarter or so, then maintain on my own every couple of days or so.  Most full-service salons will have someone who can do eyebrow shaping and/or waxing, usually for around $20ish.  I had them done once at Kingwood Nail and Spa, and the lady did a very nice job. Please be careful with the places inside of Walmart or HEB (SW location).  I've seen some things that lead me to believe they are not always following health codes and also question their licensing credentials.  4951

Has anyone tried the brow threading in the same shopping center as Best Buy in Atascocita? 4951

@Annie: I haven't been to that one, but I have been to the one by the Walmart in Humble (New Look Salon). Seema did a good job, but I haven't liked how the others have done my eyebrows. I now just ask for her and say I only want them cleaned up. 4951

@Annie:

Meh...they're not great.

I highly recommend the new Brow Beauty salon (they ONLY do threading) on Atascocita Rd. in the same strip as Ling's next to Savvas Greek restaurant. Ask for Dipa ("Dee")...she is amazing! Super fast, virtually painless and incredibly precise. $10 for brow threading (they also do full-service threading on other facial areas), walk-in only, very little wait time, SUPER clean and nice, and in and out with very little to no redness.

There's a 20% coupon on their website for first timers. Really nice owners!

I'm not sure I know anyone who still does waxing... that's old school! 😀 Threading is way more gentle on your skin and a lot more accurate. If you haven't seen it, look it up on YouTube. It's literally an art form. Emoticon 4951

I've gotten threading done multiple times. Too painful and I always get cuts ew! & maybe the pain is bad, because I have had my eyebrows tattooed twice and its scar tissue (worst idea ever but not as bad as you're picturing). 4951

Speaking of threading are there any places around here that do the eye brow threads instead of the wax? 4951

I used to get my eyebrows waxed. Although spending 15 plus a tip every week or two weeks was way too much. I started doing my own. What I find helps is to get a eyebrow kit. I have one that's maybe 8$ from Walgreen's and it a little circular container with a waxy form of eyeshadow (I'll post a pic since I am horrible at explaining) it also comes with a flat tipped brush and I outline the top and bottom of my eyebrows as a guideline(anything outside the line gets plucked) I also have little "eyebrow shapers" that I also got from Walgreen's to clean up any hairs I missed. Then just clean off the make up or blend it in if you are the type to fill in your eyebrows for a fuller look. There are tons and tons of you tube tutorials for things like this. Mainly for filling in eyebrows but there are tons that are good for shaping as well(:
