Potbelly Sandwich Shop has brought their fast, friendly service and toasty, delicious sandwiches to Kingwood. The shop officially opened for business on June 25 at the intersection of Kingwood Drive and W Lake Houston Pkwy in the Main Street (HEB) shopping center, so we stopped in to check them out. The Kingwood location offers the same tasty sandwiches Potbelly fans nationwide have come to know and love, such as the signature A Wreck and the Grilled Chicken & Cheddar (there were A LOT of those ordered while we were there, including 2 at our table). There are also several hearty salads and soups to choose from, and their famous hand-dipped milkshakes are always a hit. The menu will also feature the new Turkey Club sandwich (which is what I went with).  It's made with all-natural, hand-pulled chunks of slow-roasted, white turkey meat...And of course their signature Nueskes BACON.  Emoticon And don't forget to add one of those ginormous, deli-style pickles to your order. We went through a few of those at our table. The kids loved them. Also, that raspberry lemonade freeze and a cookie were the perfect finish to the meal. Actually, do yourself a favor and get the cookie sandwich.  Emoticon The Kingwood shop will be led by General Manager Kristina Tannery, who has more than eight years of restaurant management experience. “The Potbelly culture is one-of-a-kind and I truly look forward to building relationships and feeding smiles throughout the Kingwood neighborhood,” Tannery said. “Customers may be having a tough day when they come in, but I will certainly do my best to make sure they leave happy.” The new shop is located at 4537 Kingwood Drive Suite 150, and will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sundays. Delivery will be available Monday through Friday – 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a minimum order of $10. Drive-thru is available for added convenience. ATTENTION MUSICIANS  **Local musicians add a side of rhythm to lunch at Potbelly Sandwich Shops around the country. That being said, the Kingwood shop will be looking for performers. Interested musicians are encouraged to apply online here.** To check out their app, menu, or for just more general information on Potbelly, visit their website here!![Special shout out to the adorable faces above (and their parents) for helping us get pictures during our visit.]Welcome to Kingwood, Potbelly!  Emoticon  4951

I may have to run up there tomorrow. My grandgirl is staying with me and when I asked her where she wanted to go eat yesterday after getting her hair in a fancy do, she wanted to go to "the radio" as she call open Mic at Zacharys and listen to the music as well as hear the "thumb guy" which is what she calls @shodan66 because he showed her a stupid trick. She is also living in NOLA now and believes every meal should have live music with it. 4951

If you go up there, make sure you ask Todd to play Purple Rain.  He does an absolute KILLER cover of it.  4951

We went there for dinner. Sandwich was okay but on the dry side. It wasn't as busy as I expected -- not nearly at the Torchy's level of traffic, but the drive through was hopping. 4951

I was very disappointed. I used the app to order and pick up. The chips were missing. Only one cashier was working and he was doing the ice cream, resupplying the soup, and the register from pick up and the regular walk through line. No designated pickup cashier as there is at Jason's Deli. And, then my sandwiches were over toasted. Ugh.Went back a second time and came at a time when they were out of bread, lettuce and tomatoes. Guess the truck hadn't come in.I will stick with Subway - unless I need a drive through. 4951

@HollyHobby:  I'm not a huge sandwich fan when eating out.  If I'm paying someone else, I want something I can't make at home.  Their sandwiches are very typical of that style and not much different than most other places.  Not bad but nothing outstanding, either.  What I love about Potbelly are the salads and soups.  I also love the jars of peppers they sell.  Those are awesome on a breakfast sandwich or breakfast taco.

I enjoyed their sandwich!! I have been stuck home very sick ( not contagious) and went there and got an Italien - I got 3 meals out of it. I'm not a huge fan of sandwich places- detest Subway- like Jason's but don't always feel like fighting traffic to get up to the front of KW so this is good go to for me. Can't wait to try the salad place 4951
