This past Mother's Day, my boys, Gunny and Willie, gave their Gam-Gams (my Mama / their Grandma), the book, A Dogs' Purpose, by W. Bruce Cameron...My Mom is an avid Book lover, and reader, always has been, and so when I saw it shopping around at Tee-get (Target) I was hopeful that she would enjoy it ...  ...And her reaction was more than I could have ever hoped for......Not only did she call me in tears, on more than one occasion, but said that this was the "Absolute Best" and Most "Emotional" Book that she has ever read! ....And that she "Loved it!"She gave it the "Best Book Ever" status.....  Yeah, that's how much she Loved it!I, myself, have not read it yet, nor have I seen the Movie, but knowing how some of you and your canine compadres are, like Gunny and myself, and some of you good Book lovers, I wanted to pass along the praise of A Dog's Purpose...  I have since gotten her A Dog's Journey (the follow-up Novel), and she said that it was real good, Emotional, and that she also cried with it as well, but was not as good as A Dog's Purpose... @Fallon  with Snowy@BooBear  with BooBear@Retired_Engineer  with Finn and Duke@GoldenGirl  with Mufasa@cowboysfan0314  with Smores@FoFa  with Echo, Bree-Bree and Heidi@Ray  and Homie@Jpgurl  and Old Man TJ@cgm10sne1  and Mara@lola  and Lola @beadweaver  and Hank

I'm only part way through the book but saw the movie. I cried and cried!!! And I swear- our pup Koda is Ol Man TJ reincarnated. That's why we kept him. 3 days in and he looked at me and I saw TJ!! He reminds me so much of TJ 4951

Oh my gosh! Yes!  This is the best book.  I read the book several years ago, and recently saw the movie.  I cried several times during the book and the movie.  My last Golden Retriever was a red golden also named Bailey, so I am sure you all can tell how much the book and movie hit home for me.  I liked the ending in the movie  better than the ending in the book Emoticon 4951

I couldn't read it if it's that sad. Sounds like your mom really loved it. 4951

This movie, what a tearjerker Emoticon I've expected that though but I waited to watch it because I know how emotional it will be) Remembered the good times and the bad times (passing) of my furry friends throughout my existence, most especially my 13 yr old Lalee girl who I lost in Aug 23, 2015, just 2 days before my birthday. It took a lot of courage to actually watch this movie, tears and more tears for I miss her so. Another movie I can't watch again is Hachiko - my eyes were swollen like plums the next day!P.S. Have you read the book called Last dog on the hill (The Unforgettable Story of Lou, Best Friend and Hero) by Steve Duno? My older brother gave it to me 3-4 years ago and I was about to read it with my Lalee girl beside me on the couch but decided not to because I know it is a sad book. I took a pic instead. My DH liked it. 4951

Funny you should mention this.. I rented it last week, go about half way through the movie and cried just a couple of tears.  Then when the dog started talking about how he was always tired and didn't want to run anymore.. I started bawling and had to turn it off for another time...  I think it is just too soon - between my dad and my dog I am just too close to tears all the time... .Plus my DH and DS were both in the room.   I plan to finish it when I am alone and can have a good old cry fest !!!!    I saw enough to know it is a great movie and the books are always better...   I am an avid reader too, so I am sure I will read it too. 4951
