During the 70's we were suppose to run out of oil. Oh, and solar panels and wind farms were going to provide all our energy. Almost 50 years later, more oil  and gas  than we need for a long time and solar / wind can't provide enough energy for an average small town. Also causes a lot of problems like killing birds and wildlife. Real threats are China and India breeding but we can't talk about it: 4951

Obama signs this yet travels with 13 accompanying jets and a motorcades with a dozen cars. He can't really believe people don't see his hypocrisy. Set an example and some people may follow. He's just another Al Gore who was paid millions with taxpayers money on climate change. 4951

Yup, anything we have done or signed up for is a waste of time and money, unless China and India sign up as well.  China will crank up the coal, forest clearing for new hydro, and anything else required so that we can continue to buy cheap goods at Walmart.  4951

I was looking at some vintage Popular Science mags from the early 70's for the heck of it a few years ago. Many of the articles could be mistaken for ones today on installing solar panels DIY, electric cars. The tech has barely moved! Solar and electric cars are not the answer. We need a lot of power as in atomic reaction power. 4951

You are correct, in that the technology really hasn't evolved much, relative to other things.  Batteries are better, smaller, and last longer.  Solar panels haven't evolved too much.  Some will argue that it is a conspiracy to keep fossil fuels as the primary source of energy.  Yeah, that makes a lot of sense:  Someone could progress technology to be able provide energy at a third or half the cost, and have it be mostly renewable, but doesn't want to do become a trillionaire, because, you know, Exxon.  Right.  4951

This "treaty" was never legally passed here in the U.S. Obama unilaterally decided to sign on to it with no regard to long-standing law, as in the Constitution. If it was so great, then why the underhanded deal? Why not try making a case for it to the American people and pass it legally? Answer: it was a deal that would only be negative for our own country. A follow-up question: why, then, force it on us?
